Meet Sukhjit

Sukhjit Singh is a celebrated, multi-award-winning leader with over 25 years of distinguished service in the education and non-profit sectors. Renowned for his unwavering commitment to public service and building inclusive, vibrant communities, Sukhjit’s impact has been widely recognized. As a 2025 recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal, he has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to advancing the social, civic, political, and economic empowerment of newcomers to Canada. His outstanding volunteerism was further honored in 2018 with The Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, awarded by the Governor General of Canada.

He is also known as a Change Agent. Being inspired by Volunteerism and becoming a passionate and proud Canadian; A strong supporter of social and civic inclusion for newcomers to Canada, he feels that volunteer work is the best way to participate in and learn about new country. Volunteering has become a passion for him and he cares passionately abou empowering and motivating other newcomers in Canada.

Sukhjit became a motivational story teller. In 2017, he published his first book “Same Shoes, Different Doors”. This book is chronological stories of his journey of struggle and success as a new immigrant in Canada. He is also a founder at Success and Innovation. Sukhjit is a frequent speaker at many events in GTA and shares his expertise and enthusiasm with others as a member of several community-based organizations.

At present, he is a Member at United Way South Asian Advisory Council, a mentor at e-NIC YMCA and Funder and Mentor at Success and Innovation.

In past, as a volunteer, he was Public Policy Committee member at Volunteer Canada, Member at Advisory Committee at International Student Connect Program with COSTI, Regional Reviewer at Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Chaired Institute of Canadian Citizenship Peel chapter, he was Board Member at InformCanada, a speaker with passages Canada, a member at Heritage Minute Advisory Committee. He was Co Chair at Ontario, Ministry of Labour Small Business Task Group, member at Interfaith Council of Peel, Board of Director and Volunteer Ambassador at Volunteer MBC, Co-Chair at Peel Newcomer Strategy Group’s Social, Civic and Economic Inclusion committee, Brand Ambassador of Region of Peel’s Immigration Portal, Ambassador at Canadian Immigration Integration Program, Mentor at TRIEC, PIC member at Peel District School Board and many more…

Sukhjit lives in Mississauga, Ontario, with his wife and daughter; He has a passion for sports, holds a Purple Belt in karate, and enjoys engaging in Brain Optimization exercises.
